Default Best way to vanquish charr homelands?

Hello,

A friend and I are having lot of trouble vanquishing the charr. I was wondering if anyone could recommed a good team build or something. We have tried a few different builds using our heroes, and are able to clear pretty much everything else except the charr.

We have tried modified versions of sabway, discordway, yellowway and a few others. Tried some mesmer builds, but they don't seem to be able to do enough damage. What sort of builds should we be using?

Thanks for any advice. ^_^

Use 2 Necro heroes. One has to wear a N/Rt healing build and the other a N/Mo build wich uses both MMs and protective prayers. I'm not sure about the build but I'm sure the wiki has it.

Good luck!

get into the walking siege devourer and the vanquish is 90% easier(easy enough as it is)

avoid the sabway build, i used
Heros-HB monk(minor protection skills PS is all), Nuker, MM.

Henchies-Healer, Fire, Illussion and ranger

got all 3 areas done at once, with no deaths, really easy

What are the professions being used? If possible, I'd have one of you run a SY! build.

I don't really recall what setup I used on my warrior, and on my para it was pretty much a guild PuG.

But general strategies you want to use:

1) Take out the rezzers first-they are the Dominators and Avengers. If you have the bad luck of having both in the party, drop the Doms, and when the Avengers use [[flesh of my flesh] kill them and the newly rezzed Dom. Charr monks are bad, so spiking is easy.

2) Have some form of enchant removal. The Flameshielders love [[aegis].

3) Interupts are good. There will be multiple Flameshielders with [[meteor shower] so if you're not careful you'll end up with 3-4 MS's going off.

4) Have some form of spike stopping for you. The Charr rangers are just nasty. Things like [[guardian] and [[aegis] will do the trick.

I'm a monk, and my friend is a warrior. my friend could probably put SY on his bar.

Thanks for the tips thus far!

Since you're a monk, I'd recommend doing a prot/healing hybrid-then you can better direct your prots better. If you're okay with microing a hero, you can see about chaining [[Aegis]. That'll stop most of the heavy physicals that get thrown your way.

For your buddy, the SY! warrior build (in case he doesn't have it) is posted over the Warrior forum I believe. Basically it's just:

[for great justice][enduring harmony][dragon slash][save yourselves][flail]

Richardt gives sound tactical advice. The charr are harder than most other mobs because they have decent team builds and thus require actual tactics instead of some cookie cutter counter. I would like to add that area daze, e.g., from Technobabble or BHA + Epidemic is very strong against them because their casters love to huddle together at the beginning of the fight.

Concerning SY! I'd like to point out that high Ebon Vanguard ranks act as a permanent FGJ! so as a warrior you can drop all adrenaline boosters if you have decent Vanguard and Allegiation ranks - IAS + Rebel Yell is enough to power SY!

Umm doesn't Rebel Yell gives adrenaline on hits and not double adrenaline from D-slash?

You could at least drop any orders hero though.

True, it doesn't double the adrenaline gain from skills, but you don't even need that since it's four hits for SY! and with an IAS you get enough just from autoattacking. If you insist on using DSlash then FGJ! is indeed necessary.

Also, Ebon Vanguard PVE skills help a lot.

I was packing both Standard of Wisdom and Assasin Support even though I played monk.

Assassin support if very nice for several reasons-I primarily used it as a decoy so the Flameshielders would MS it, and since my team is largely ranged, that means none of them were going off near me.

And provided your hapless sin somehow survives that, chances are it'll drag a rezzer down with him.

Sabway, interupt ranger, some AoE, Rebel Yell and your character should take Ebon Vanguard anti-Charr skills. Take out the mesmer Charr first as they fast cast rez spells, and they're usually standing beside the monks anyway so they'll take some of your AoE damage. Or take frozen soil I guess.

Sabway is kinda bleh vs Charr sometimes, I've found that this build owns them;

http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...php?t=10322527

Basically, I use Dslash with SY.
Necro hero with Jagged + Minions, with Prot Spirit and Aegis.
Another nec with SS, Foul Feast, Reckless, Enfeebling Blood, Dwayna's thingo and Res Chant. Then whatever you like.
Gwen with VoR, Empathy, Drain Ench, interrupts, res chant.
Lo Sha (Ineptitude)
Zho (BHA, hooray)
Mhenlo (WoH)
Lina (ZB)

Then you win everything, pretty easily too. I vanq'd Grothmaw Wardowns, didn't go below 75% health on ANYONE until the dumb monk boss in the Charr Camp, wiped 5 times and lost.

Success! Found daze was the key for me. Technobable ftw. And BHA. Standard of Courage also helped a lot.

Thanks people! ^_^

Bring along Epidemic, it'll dominate all the casters at once.

Also, just noticed, you're Nene :O Haven't seen you since Law and PMS did that merger thing. Weren't you guys GvGing recently?

lol! Hi, yeah PMS only just reformed last month. So i'm back from my 9 month break from GW and decided to get back into PVE to pass the time between GVG. We have GVGed a few times in the last couple of weeks, but still pretty rusty from the long break.

@ beserk: the siege devourers were very useful. My mate (the warrior) used it for the most part, as i was monking. XD
